Case studies
Every school has a different way of implementing service learning. For example, Maryland requires that all students do 75 hours of service prior to college graduation and that it includes "preparation, action, and reflection components." Each local school may interpret how that is implemented.
The links below contain details about how different schools implement their volunteer (community service) or service learning programs:
- Wallenberg High School (San Francisco) - high quality community service program.
- Gateway High School (San Francisco) - high quality community service program.
- W.K. Kellogg Foundation - Exemplary Service Learning Examples. Belmont High School (Los Angeles); Stargate Middle School (Colorado).
